CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Covering Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) Using DRSABCD, In a nationally accredited CPR course, you will learn the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), CPR ratio according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. • Recognise and assess an emergency situation
• Ensure safety for self, bystanders and casualty
• Assess the casualty and recognise the need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Seek assistance from emergency services
• Perform CPR in accordance with the ARC guidelines
• Adult Basic Life Support, BLS Using DRSABCD
• Display respectful behaviour towards casualty
• Operate an automated external defibrillator, AED according to manufacturers’ instructions
• Accurately convey incident details to emergency services
• Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information in line with statutory or organisational policies
• Recognise the possible psychological impacts on self and other rescuers and seek help when required
• Contribute to a review of the first aid response as required

In line with the Australian Resuscitation Council the certificate is valid for 12 months and recommended to be updated every 12 months.

First Aid – HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

It is designed for anyone who may need to administer first aid in various scenarios, including both community and workplace settings. • Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
• Complete applicable workplace or site documentation, including incident report form

Renewal of HLATID009 is recommended to take refresher training by the Australian resuscitation every 12 months. The First Aid and BELS certification should be renewed every three years in accordance with current industry requirements.

Child Care First Aid – HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

In this training course, you’ll learn how to provide first aid to infants, children and adults, following the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other top Australian clinical bodies. It’s designed for professionals working in education and care settings, including early childhood workers and those employed in outside school hours care and vacation programs. You’ll cover how to respond to minor cuts and scrapes as well as emergencies such as asthma and anaphylaxis.

This course contributes to the first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis training requirements under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) , ACECQA. Make sure to check the specific licensing and regulatory requirements, including any refresher training, as required by your relevant national, state, or territory Work Health and Safety Authorities.
